Terms of Service

Effective 2026 · Draft pending counsel review

These terms govern your use of ClearSky Solar's website, online tools, and free assessment service. They do not replace the formal installation agreement you'll sign if you choose to move forward; that agreement controls all installation, warranty, and payment terms.

Use of the site

You may browse, read, and use the tools (savings estimator, roof quiz, PACE lookup, assessment form) for personal, non-commercial use. Don't scrape content, copy our designs, or attempt to compromise the site.

The estimator is an estimate

Our online tools use modelled data — regional irradiance, your stated NS Power bill, and typical NS rate / escalation values — to produce ballpark numbers. Real production, real savings, and real financing terms vary with your specific roof, weather, usage pattern, equipment choice, and program changes. Use the tools to orient yourself, then book the free assessment for verified numbers.

Assessments are free and no-obligation

Booking an assessment doesn't commit you to a purchase. You're free to say yes, no, or not yet at any stage.

Quotes are subject to verification

Any quote we deliver is contingent on a physical site visit, current equipment pricing, and confirmation of any third-party programs (PACE, Halifax Solar City, federal Clean Tech ITC, financing partner approval). Programs and rates can change between quote and contract; we'll re-confirm before signing.

Intellectual property

The site content, layout, branding, illustrations, and code are owned by ClearSky Solar (or used with permission). You may share links freely. You may not reproduce the site or its assets without written permission.

Third-party links

We link to NS Power, Halifax Regional Municipality, Clean Foundation, Switch PACE, municipal program pages, and other sources for verification. We aren't responsible for the accuracy or availability of those sites.

No warranty on website content

The site is provided “as is.” While we work hard to keep numbers and program details current, we do not warrant that every value is up-to-the-minute accurate. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose for the website itself. Workmanship and equipment warranties are governed by your signed installation agreement, not by this page.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Canadian law, ClearSky Solar's liability for website-related issues is limited to direct damages and capped at the amount you paid us for website-related services (typically zero). This clause does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada that apply. Any disputes will be heard in Nova Scotia courts.

Changes

We update these terms when our practices or applicable law change. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
